This long over-due bill is one of the most important steps Congress can take to rebuild the middle class. The Employee Free Choice Act would strengthen our freedom to choose union representation and give workers more ways to bargain together for health care and fair wages.
But passing the Employee Free Choice Act won’t be easy – powerful corporations have been running ads and lobbying Congress to distort the issue and stop progress for working families. Since my re-election--with your help and support--in 2008, I have continued to organize and advocate for an agenda for working families. Right now, my campaign is working to expand support for the Employee Free Choice Act: I am running ads supporting the Act and hosting a town hall forum to energize the progressive community behind passing Employee Free Choice.

Winning the presidency back in 2008 was just the beginning of moving our country in the right direction. Already we have made progress working with President Obama, his agenda for change, and the new Democratic Congress. Together we have:
o Enacted The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which will jump-start our sluggish economy by putting more than 3.5 million Americans back to work -- including creating 66,000 jobs in Minnesota.
o Announced the closing of the infamous Guantanamo Bay prison.
o Brought healthcare to 11 million more needy kids through the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP)
o Passed the Paycheck Fairness Act,which is another key initiative to close the pay gap between men and women.
America is steadily getting back on track, as we undo years of policies that benefited only big corporations. We cannot let them stop our momentum by defeating The Employee Free Choice Act. Your contribution of $25, $50 or $100 makes all the difference!
